Farming is solo killing the same boring monsters over and over and over and over again for loot. Generally, you'll want to be level 20 in a high level area to get the best results out of farming. The most popular farmers are W/Mo, Mo/W, and E/Mo.

Farming means almost what it sounds like. As was said (with a sweet dose of subjective adjectives) "farming" means finding an area with good drops, decent numbers of baddies and nearby to a portal (so you can zone and re-enter when needed).

You don't have to be a high level. I always make it a point in Pre-sear to farm bear for beer outside Fort Ranik. I've also spent a fair bit of time farming Charr in Pre-Sear. The danger with doing it low level is that it's easy to get yourself in a situation that you can't control. A farmer should never have to fear for his life, else he's not a farmer he's just trying to stay alive.
